Tony Lanson is the managing member of Upstream-Pro LLC a project management consultancy specializing in decision-based risk management. From 2017 to 2019 Tony was the Engineering Manager at Petroedge Energy LLC an independent oil and gas company during development of an Eagle Ford EOR opportunity in south Texas. In 2016 he retired from Shell International E&P Co after a 36 year career during which he lived in Louisiana, Cameroon West Africa, Syria, California, and Texas. His experience includes field operations, a range of petroleum engineering disciplines, external affairs, financial analysis and economic evaluation, and project delivery. Leadership experience includes field engineering and construction, new business development, joint venture interactions and field development planning. He has worked on projects located in the North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America. Throughout his career he has held special interests in petroleum engineering applied to waterflood recovery, field surveillance and optimization, reservoir characterization, reservoir performance and prediction, unconventional resource evaluation, facility design and construction, and major project delivery. He enjoys reading, travel, photography, and spending time with his son. daughter and wife. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Orleans, is a registered Professional Petroleum Engineer in California, and a Society Petroleum Engineers Certified Petroleum Engineer.
